Why is gamefreak so opposed to adding any sort of detail to their 3D pokemon models? They all look flat and shitty. Just because you transitioned from 2D to 3D models doesnt mean your pokemon need to be flat and look like the 2D models but 3rd dimensional.

They don't need that kind of details. They dont even have that kind of realistic detail in official artwork or the anime. The more simple and round and colourful style works best.

If they start adding these details people will start demanding the details get even more detailed in each new game.

What I mean is to put a HARD CAP on Pokemon in the game. All you have is 150 or whatever the new region is, and that includes any returning monsters. And that's IT. There is no others to "unlock" or "port in". That's the entire roster.
Also Unova has one of the most uninteresting monsters in the series so it's only unpopular because of that, retard.

I would be fine with dexit if the quality actually increased but even with the limited dex of LGPE which was arguably the most polished (not best) game on the switch it still was really lazily made. So if they decided to cut down more Pokemon in future games then I suspect they’d rather use it as an opportunity to have more games in development rather than having more time to polish one.

Something that I've bitched about in the past is how utterly incompetent Pokémon's animations are. Notice how even in Switch era Pokemon, characters don't touch one another. Everyone has a canned animation and in situations where the canned animations can't convey an action, the screen will fade to black and the text box will explain what happened. It's not a question of graphics and artstyle so much as it's a question of GF and TPC being really, REALLY lazy. Final Fantasy 12 was on the PS2, released in 2006. And nearly 20 years ago the models in that game would react to the fucking wind billowing around them. Fran's hair and Balthier's sleeves. I just wish Pokemon would act like they have something to prove instead of phoning it in every year. But when Pokemon games are still breaking records every year, why should they?
