I never played the original air ride but it feels like its a bunch of nostalgiatards hyping up the game because they played it a shit ton as a kid when city tour itself probably has very little depth and will get old quickly.

Yes, you could spend 100s of hours in City Trial if you're a child and/or autistic.

But the actual single-player content can be completed in less than 1 hour

Its kind of annoying that MK exists because without it I feel like this would have been a smash bros racing game with a much higher budget and more ambition.

its not about the roster, its about the fact that the city trials mode feels very limited in scope. If this wasn't a random spinoff game but a mainline racing game it feels like there would have been a billion maps and more complex mechanics.

Yes. We only played City Trial because we were kids and played the same shit again and again.

It looks like a $40 game. Watch the animations in the city trial mode, it's borderline PS2 level and it's not because of the Switch 2, the game's just gigabudget. Maybe if Nintendo bothered to diversify the price tags more I'd pick it up.

Just like Mario Kart. Fuck multiplayer.

Personally I've continued to play it over time, still fun but it really shines in multiplayer and I don't have anyone to play with anymore, which is why I wished there was a sequel so you could play online easily. Didn't think it would actually happen, yet here we are 22 years later. Good times for me

This actually looks like the weakest part of the game. I mean... Gliding around a small arena for five minutes, collecting bonuses... And then a mini-game ?

I really like what I've seen with the races, powers/super and tech to get some boosts... It's arcade, it's fun. But this sky island mode thing, wtf ?
