Anime doesn't exactly translate well to a medium. There's a reason why theres so many Dbz games and only a handful of Gits titles. You're catering toward specific niches that only a few cliques of people would dare to pick up, play, and criticize as opposed to masses of people.

That aside, I think it's possible to do another Gantz or Gundam game right, provided they're not produced by Bamco. Or even a Hellsing game in the vein of Gungrave Overdose. Or a proper Gintama or Getbackers action game.

The problem is that Japanese developers don't know how to make good anime games.

You get shitty anime games because anime's strength is story, and they already use story in the anime. One Piece would be fucking amazing as a JRPG and the story is structured like it, but you can't have a One Piece JRPG because the story has already been told.
