should multiplayer game servers prioritize latency reduction by only giving fast approximations to your positioning relative to other players, along with just letting collisions and other bs be client-side or should it be as accurate as possible, and makes sure everyone gets information about the same world physics, even if it means super delayed updates to what's going on?
there has to be a balancing point right? when do you pick performance over accuracy here? people always whine about a guy being shot but they weren't there, and they got robbed by lag, but would it be better to make everyone look choppy as shit if that's the only other option? like a fixed slowdown rate that matches the worst performing person in a lobby so nobody has an advantage? that seems gay but i can't think of a better alternative.
