The ds1 and ds2 are okay but too small. Shouldve been revised as soon as xbox released the duke. The ds4 is the best but none of them are particularly good.

This list forgets that PS1 originally had a dual analog stick with no rumble, then when N64 introduced the rumble pack with Starfox 64, Sony released a second analog controller which was the Dual Shock.

Also, the infamous Banana PS3 pad.

I'm a tendie too and have never owned a playstation console growing up and only recently been checking out games on the PS2: Mostly the .hack games and katamari are in the library so far.

I bought a box of 25 analog DS1 (SCPH1200 for PS and SCPH110 for PSone) and 25 DS2 controllers (all official sony) at some flea market for $40 and decided to test and deep clean each one. Most of the DS1 controllers looked like they had been dragged through a battlefield, the grey shells completely yellowed out, some covered in grime and what looked like dog shit, even rubber cable covers torn on some of them, but pretty much all worked mostly flawlessly. 2 of them had poorly calibrated sticks, 1 was giving faulty inputs. All the rubber on the sticks were perfect after a good scrub. Now the DS2 controllers looked in much better condition in general, but 12 of the 25 DS2 controllers have their inputs straight up not work. 2 of them had the rubber cover come off the left sticks. SCPH1200s were all made in either Korea or Japan. SCPH110s were all made in China it seems. All the DS2s (SCPH10010) were made in China. Annoying thing about the SCPH110 models is that the internal PCBs and vibration rotors could vary (some had smaller right rotors), so it made swapping parts a bit of a pain. Anyway even back then we all knew the DS2 pads were a step down in terms of durability but they did have pressure sensitive buttons which was new at the time. DS3 were even worse for durability and the triggers were ass. I like the DS4's buttons and dpad but that's about it. My favorite would be the transparent blue DS1 analogs.
