Constantly having to switch out gear in the pause menu got pretty annoying after like, the 80th time

Best 2D game ever made by Nintendo

It's not that bad except for the fact that even if you get the bracelet touching a rock or pot it will still go through the "Wow! This looks pretty heavy! You won't be able to lift it with just your bare hands..." text.

What always got me was how everyone forgets how lopsided the game is. Up until around the 5th or 6th dungeon it's all great.
>slowly discovering the island and why you are here
>every new item gets you to a new place or old places faster
Then you get told straight out it's all a dream, by that point, the map is fully laid out, the last few items have no use outside of their dungeon, you have to write down on a piece of paper the directions to the final boss, but the actual final boss is trivially easy with the last phase cheesed by boomerang.

It’s my favorite game of all time. Playing this in the backseat during long family car rides on my gameboy… it was magical.

Based road trip enjoyer, I took a road trip just a week or so ago and when I was in Florida on Interstate 10, which I hadn't been on for at least 15 years, when I suddenly had a strong urge to play Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, triggering a memory from roughly the same stretch from over 20 years ago. Really weird how the mind works.

If only there was a remake that resolved issues like that...

One of my favorite vidya memories is playing the original release on an OG Game Boy under a lamp at 2:00 am with batteries borrowed from the TV remote because Koholint still needed me. The beach scene with Marin made me feel like she was real somehow, and that the island itself was real in a way. I already knew that the island was a dream, but so was the game and I knew that it would end too, so it felt real to me. I didn't want it to end.

The toy box look for the switch version is a crime against humanity.

It's kind of fine as long as it gets younger people to play it. The game is still mostly the same besides that.

I played the non-dx version of this game a lot as a kid, enough to discover the select warp bug and stealing from the shop. Getting killed by the shopkeeper freaked me the fuck out man it was like living one of those vidya creepypastas to an eight year old.

I got stuck on that one and the boss where you have to pick up the ball to throw at it. Before internet, so I just suffered.
