I'm not really drawn to any specific archetype or anything, the only two things I feel consistently about is that they must have access to all of the game's basic movement options, so I wouldn't play Potemkin for example, and they need to have a medium skill-floor at most, because I don't want to invest myself into learning something hard just to get started with a character for a game I don't even know if I'll like yet.

I've played Cammy since I was a kid playing Super Turbo on the SNES. I was too young and retarded to understand why it felt so shitty and stiff compared to all the platformers I liked playing, and she was the only one that didn't feel so weird and slow.
I actually have an awful affliction where I can't play any other fighting game because to me, playing a fighting game means playing Cammy. If the game doesn't have Cammy in it, I just don't feel a desire to get good in it. I love 3rd Strike, it's the best fighting game ever made, but it doesn't have Cammy in it, so I just can't find a main.
I started playing Makoto and enjoyed myself, but she got boring to play after a while because her entire game plan is just karakusa and then mixing people. I tried Chun for a bit, but there's really nothing to lab with her, she's basically pure fundies + some tech, and I felt like a fag for playing the best character in the game. I also tried Akuma, but I'm just not into shotos.
Basically, Cammy's the only reason I play 6. I've considered going back to Super Turbo, but it's one of the only retro games that I just can't go back to. The games since then may have been worse, but they've improved upon the style and character of the series. 2 feels so much more generic in retrospect.

How do Asuka players feel about getting Frozen State for Aquila Metron instead of a reversal?
Coming from someone who plays Dizzy a lot, it seems busted, it does around a whole second of hitstun so it lets you get setplay going and Asuka should also be able to also get his spells/mana back
You can also just opt to go for a reset instead of hard knockdown

It's fucking amazing. The DP was easily the worst move in the game. The new version gives you an easy resource recharge, access to HKD from anything with 2D and it has tumble on wallsplat which is amazing for Asuka. They also reduced its mana cost from 20% to 16% and even it kept it +10, so it's good for blockstrings too.

The only slight downside is that Test Case 2 lost one blue cube in exchange for one more ice in the character, so it's a tiny bit worse for neutral.

From what I've seen in the Asuka discord have mostly been practicing wallslump setups. I'm also really interested in the buff the low staff got because it makes converting off it insanely easy, it's got some insane wall carry now.

Probably not that unreliable. Getting a feel for wallsplat is pretty important for Asuka because the fireball has a ton of it and it's free setplay if you want to get back spells or mana. Not that I'm actually good at it since a lot of the times I just go ham on confirms and end up breaking wall before I should, but not auto-piloting is like the whole struggle with Asuka.
