First game is better overall, 2nd one just has the wow factor of a gazilion enemies and explosions on screen.

This genre in general always had really ass boss fights. Entire 3D NG series has like five or even less fine/good boss fights and in those id count Murai so first boss lol. DMC is similar like Vergil fights in DMC3 and theres Credo in DMC4 but rest are medicore as fuck or just suck balls. Same with any other game/series in that genre really.

I think DMC has quite a few good bosses.
All Phantom and Nelo fights in 1
Cerberus, Vergil 1, 2, 3, Beowulf, Agni and Rudra, Doppelganger in 3
Credo, Echidna, Berial, Sanctus, Agnus in 4
Artemis, Malphas, Cavalier, Goliath, Nightmare Trio, Urizen 1, 2, 3, both Vergil fights, Dante in Vergil DLC and King Cerberus in 5

I think NG also has some decent fights, maybe not as many at the same quality as DMC, but some of them are pretty good and on par
Murai, Bone Dragon and Alma 1 (this fight is pure dogshit on Master Ninja), worms are fun to beat on with Dabi, Doku, Nicchae and even Vigoor Emperor (mostly for the kino factor), final Murai is also decent. Clone Ryu is good
NG2 fights are mostly pretty bad, but Genshin fights were improved a bit in Sigma and 2 Black, Fiend Genshin is good, Rasetsu is a good first boss, Tengu brothers in Sigma is good, Vazdah is passably decent
Regent and Epigonos fights in 3 are good, arguably great some times

Even the biggest Ng2 fan will tell you the campaign has some very terrible levels, survival mode is the real game

Unfortunately this is not true as much as I wish it would be. There are some real delusional 2fags out there who genuinely pretend the entire game is some handcrafted Itagaki masterpiece with no flaws and great bosses. I think they are a minority, but a loud minority since they have made 2 their sacred cow.

Last few missions feel like dynasty warriors level enemy density and some maps like heart of darkness are just utter stinkers. Nobody pretends it's perfect but it's such a batshit fun fest you tend to overlook all the garbage (like literally every boss in the game)

The most annoying thing about the worms is how one note they are. Roll through their bash attack and do a brief ds combo. Do this until dead (for all 3 worms).
