everything >Apple Arcade exclusive >literally 0 marketing >identity crisis kind of game that didn't know whether it wanted to be a rhythm game a la NecroDancer or regular bomberman

Also Power Bomberman is completely free and mogs any other possible option, until they provide a superior or satisfactory alternative for online Bomberman play his franchise will stay dead.

The story in the last 2 games is reaaaaaaaaalllllly grating. I don't need that much fucking talking in Bomberman and the silly tone they chose and a lot of the specifics over the Bomber crew, hate to say it, makes me cringe.
What franchise is more punished, Puyo or Bomberman?
Both seem to be in this limbo state of pumping out mediocre zombie-franchise games and that are worse than their original iterations.

Definitely Puyo. To say nothing of the last like, 15 years of games from either series, I can put Bomberman in front of someone who has never played it and almost immediately have a good time, but Puyo is the one game that I pretty much can't sell to anyone who doesn't already like it.

Being on Apple Arcade is probably a big one, and the fact I've never even heard of it either. I dread to think how few people actually played it.

Bomberman, it's not even a comparison. For the last 15 years, he got one barely decent game with terrible netcode, followed up with a timed Stadia exclusive, Apple Arcade exclusive and a $50 repackaging of the Stadia game.
