2016 was cool because it just was. Eternal sucked because they made it all gamey and had Doomguy kneeling to random ghost guys. Dark Ages sucked because it was too gamey again.

Reminder that Dark Ages should have been a Quake(1) or Hexen (without the colorful ball dodging stuff ofc) and all the tards coping that "but the devs did the right thing cuz doom has bigger name recognition" were just coping.
Getting a brand new authentic quake/hexen revival would have been far more hype for gaming than getting a reskinned Doom nobody asked for

Now they shot their dark medieval setting load on a mediocre game and getting a new one wouldn't be anywhere near as exciting

IMO it was the best. It was real, immersive, gritty and Doomguy wasn't subservient to some ghost. You really got a feeling for his character in the cutscenes. Especially the opening one in the elevator. What a game, man.
