Pikmin games are enjoyable, won't take up too much time. I like 2 the most but they're all good on some level. 1+2 are kino and 3+4 are comfy but very easy, they all have difficult side modes/missions.

And to answer your original question, my favorites of that genre would be Night of Revenge and SiNiSistar 2. First is a metroidvania platformer and the latter is a pixel side-scroller that theme-wise is basically Bloodborne with a sprinkling of Resident Evil with a nun as the MC. The latter does horror actually well as opposed to most H-games. When it comes to production quality, both are about as good as you're gonna get.
