I just redownloaded and started playing this again, I don't know why but I just can't get into New Vegas, I always go back to Fallout 3.
I love the subways, I love the green grey tint, I love the capital wasteland, and I will not apologize.

nta, but 4 is radiant quest slop that threw everything Fallout games are supposed to be out the window while, admitedly, improved on combat a lot.
Give me Fallout 4 combat in Fallout New Vegas and I'll be the happiest man in the world. And everyone knows the best Fallout is New Vegas by far over FO3 (though only played like 16-ish hours of it over multiple playthroughs and never went too far after megaton since it couldn't keep my attention) or FO4 (played over 180 hours and it's still slop. I wish I could get those hours back as it is an insult to Fallout games) having better mechanics integration, characters, factions, dialogue and immersion overall; not to mention all of the mods that make New Vegas live forever as the *best* modern Fallout game to date. NV>3>4 cope and seeth.

Idk anon. Game stopped crashing and freezing once multithreading was enabled in the .ini file. Which is funny that its not enabled by default, because game barely works when its not, so question is to Bethesda why did they not enable it by default.

F3 is superior to any other 3D fallout but it's also the ugliest one. It would only benefit from the remaster, unlike oblivion that was the same empty game despite stunning visuals.

I was able to play it in 4k on high settings after installing a couple of mods and activating balanced DLSS4 using DLSS Swapper. The only truly annoying thing was the loading times between instances despite using m.2 so I wasn't able to finish it.

I managed to finish it for the first time last week (since 2008 I tried to get into it like 3-4 times). This time I decided to abandon the main quest and just explore and do side quests. It was surprisingly good. The world doesn't make any logical sense, but fuck me is it atmospheric, and some of the quests were not bad either. After around 20hrs I started to follow the main quest (I actually skipped a lot of it - found the simulation pod vault without even talking to 3 Dog or Lee) and it's just as bad as I remembered. The writing is horrible, there are no choices to make, overall it just fucking sucks. It became quite clear why I hated this game so much before, I was trying to do just the main quest and not much else. I don't hate it as much anymore, there were some amazing moments while roaming the wasteland, but I still like NV and 4 more.

I did the same in 4 and was finally able to enjoy it. Bethesda just can't make a good questline but they're are really good at filling the space with little things like occasional locations and quests. This is why F76 is the currently best fallout—no shitty main quest to ruin the game.
