I got annoyed at the 3rd big monster fight and turned it off and never played it again.
I wanted to get high and transport cargo across a vast expanse of nothingness, but instead I’m TALKED AT for fucking 30 minutes every time I do literally anything, and then when you think youre finally free oh no! Theres a big bad boss monster you HAVE TO FIGHT to progress! Also it has a stupid amount of HP and you need to play dark souls simulator to get back to the fucking game for some reason.
Needless to say I regret the purchase.

Did it though? I thought kojimadrones would buy anything he made. I never played it so I won't comment but yeah I just watched a few cutscenes and thought it boring. Wow 60 year old Japanese man does things 12 year olds think isncool but it's endearing cuz durr

DS2 flanderized itself, and supplanted the original game's generally grim and pensive tone with a bunch of goofiness and exaggeration. Why can my mailman suddenly do flips and pro wrestling moves? Why is there a vtuber in my mailman simulator? Genuine ludonarrative dissonance in a game that's all about immersion killed my interest.

While thats a real answer to what turned people off who already bought it, that doesn't explain why it sold so much less. It sold 1.4 million by the end of june, but that was down like 66% from the first games sales. Most people just didn't want to play another delivery sim, and a lot of the people who really do are on PC waiting for a goddamn port
