Why is this considered a masterpiece? I don't get it. You just wander around looking for collectibles. They aren't rewards for completing levels, they are the entire game. The core gameplay objective feels like a side quest.

Odyssey's only competition is Mario 64. The movement with cappy is great and the more open feel of the levels is better than the other games. And no I'm not a tendie, I hate current zelda and won't be buying a Switch 2.

The levels are alright, it's the collectathon structure that cheapens it. The game is designed to reward you for simply doing anything. There is no reason to do anything even remotely challenging when you can fuel the Odyssey simply by walking around. It's not exploration when there's always a tangible, predictable reward

The movement can be a major reason a game is good though, even if it alone is not enough to justify it being good.

Open world is garbage, if anything they're like 64's levels, just on a bigger scale

Definitely something they should improve on in the next entry, not enough to make the game bad though or even disappointing. Even still 64 has a lot of simple stars like the chain chomp in the first level.
