MGSV is the perfect hylic test. Soulless husks will bitch and moan that the game doesn't have enough set pieces or cool cutscenes or plot twists while real pneumatics know that a game with good systems/gameplay and little content is always infinitely more fun than the opposite. Itโ€™s not good. TPP gameplay has no depth to it. AI is horrible, the light sources donโ€™t matter and the environment lacks interactivity. I went back and played both versions of MG2 on NES/MSX and the FIRST fucking thing i notice is they have spotlights and there actually is a consequence to being caught. And then when you walk on sand or metallic surfaces it creates noise that alerts enemies. In MGSV spotlights dont even matter and sound doesnโ€™t matter. All that matters is that you are at an X amount of distance away from the enemy so he doesnโ€™t see you. And thereโ€™s a severe lack of barricades to hide beneath, which is ridiculous because Ground Zeroes had a ton of it.

The fact is that he spent several months and a portion of the game's budget to make PT behind the backs of Konami's leads was what lead to content to be cut to make the 2015 deadline and prompting his demotion into a contract worker.
Scream all you want but the signs and clues are there. The guy got bored of Metal Gear during development and because of his prior position he thought he could get away with wasting resources from V then got a rude awakening when the rest of the company wasn't on board after coming back from their annual fiscal report in april.

Yeah no shit, and then changed their minds when they learned how PT came to be and how much Kojima was willing to spend on the development (could have been around that of Death Stranding since that game is basically PT without the Silent Hill licence). At the time the rest of Konami were trying to push away from expensive video games and more live service mobile slop so the fiscal year report for 2014 not looking that great (especially with Ground Zeroes not selling as much as Konami would have hoped), Kojima not only having spent so much on TPP and planning on doing it again for Silent Hills it's pretty easy to see why they fired him and canned the project.
