Why do people prefer Mario Kart Wii over Mario Kart Double Dash?

Wii has more tracks, online play and I like its driving mechanics more.

no one remembers double dass exist. outclassed by mk64 and mkwii in every single way.
it’s one of many mediocre bland inoffensive first party gamecube shovelwares that you forget about (starfox adventures, chibi robo, mario party 6, wario world, etc.) until some cubie zoomer tries shilling it then you remember how dogshit it was before forgetting about it again 5 minutes later

Better track and (mostly) character selection (I miss you, Petey)
DD's controls also just feel super slippery to me

Because zoomers are now old enough to dominate online discourse, so most gaming discussions lean towards games they grew up with (7th gen mostly).

You see the same with how massively overrated Pokemon Gen 4 is now.

MKDD's controls are weird because the game has no real drifting and you hop all over the place.
>drifting
When you drift, you don't actually gain any lateral momentum, you don't actually slide at all.
All that happens is that your turning circle becomes much smaller, in other words, you turn faster.
The game makes it look like you're drifitng by lagging the camera behind. When you let go of drifting, the camera catches up to the orientation of the player.
>hopping
Every tiny elevation change sends your kart hopping, which takes control away from you.
You can't steer while mid-air, which is why sometimes a stage can feel very unresponsive when it has many downward slopes.

They are both shit. The last good MK game is MK64. Then the series only became good again with MK 8.

Wii has the best Rainbow Road :^)

Are you a masochist? I like MK64's rainbow road the most just because it's easy and the music is so good, it's like getting a nice reward for your troubles of dealing with rubberbanding bullshit.

Bikes, better track and character roster, and tricks
DD is like a proto mk7 with mild kart customization but no tricks or bikes
Did I mention wii introduced tricks and bikes?
Tricks and bikes are cool.

Probably because many people didn't play Double Dash. It's sort of that weird middle sibling like Smash Bros on the WiiU.

No one has friends, so Double Dash just reminds them of that. This is not projection from me. No sir.
