i was until i saw the combat

I was initially but the more I see of it the less excited I get though. If it was called something other than Silent Hill nobody would bat an eyelid.
It might still be a decent horror game regardless of the name if the story and atmosphere turn out to be good but it's def not a day 1 by for me.

Ok I get that silent hill doesn't really have to be just about the town but why the fuck is it set in japan?

The whole appeal of silent hill is the American setting. If you read some of the early interviews the developers were specifically trying to go for a small American town because they were fans of American horror films (Jacobs ladder, Session 9 are both referenced heavily in SH2-3). having a silent hill game set outside of America is just stupid

pretty much same, the setting was what interested me but that combat with the worst hit-stop ive ever seen is a no. Ill pick it up on mega sale to take screenshots thats about it

I'm absolutely excited, but only because I like Fatal Frame a ton and this seems to be the closest I'm going to get for a new game in that franchise for who knows how long. As a Silent Hill fan I am much less excited

Those are the original developers, these are the new developers.

Any "franchise" decays and entrophies over time. But that doesnt mean you can't enjoy them for what they are. Resident Evil isnt exactly about zombies in a Midwestern city anymore but I still enjoy them. Call of Duty isn't about World War 2 anymore but I found something to like in many of the 8th gen entries.

Silent Hill has had an action RPG and an arcade rail shooter already. Usually when a new Silent Hill is announced my reaction is "might be alright" to "that looks awful (Book of Memories Short Message and Ascension fall here).

But Silent Hill F looks like a "good video game". I think.
