It's because of their roles. Lucy is the love interest, but is mostly being the girl the MC "chases" after, until they hook up later on. Rebecca is the MCs partner for more of its run time, so people moved towards her. Lucy remains emotionally distant for 90% of the show.

This game is doing its best to destroy the very foundations that made it famous, and now it's also started adding characters that have nothing to do with the universe or the story it's set in.
At this point, I think I'll wait for the complete next DLC (Seasons Pass 4), just to try Robo-Ky and the new (and less sexy) version of Jam, and the other two misterious niggas that will be added at the end.
Because, you know, this is probably the last Guilty Gear game that will ever exist.

That's how it works. Arc reached out to projekt red for a guest since strive is arcsys' most successful game since dbfz and they couldn't get ciri which was the 1st option so they got the other hot girl with white hair projekt red owns.

People are telling you it's a whole different game or whatever but that's not really true. To put it succinctly, the game has improved in its quality but hasn't changed in its essence. The game started out as an open-world FPS with a skill tree and it's still an open-world FPS with a skill tree. The post-release updates fixed bugs and improved the game on the technical side, plus there have been little bits of content added here and there, but nothing fundamentally transformative. The game hasn't been changed into the RPG they promised but never delivered or anything of the sort, it hasn't even really moved in that direction. It is most certainly a better version of the game though.

If you played the very earliest version then the game right now is an improved version of what you played. The DLC has obviously come out, if you enjoyed vanilla then I can suggest playing the DLC too since you will very likely enjoy that too.

I swear to god the ambulance scene must have been one of the first things made for the series or produced separately. Lucy stands so far away from where she is for the rest of the entire story that it feels like a completely different character. If ambulance Lucy had been present for the rest of Edgerunners, she'd be more popular than Rebecca.
