First of all, the hula hoop theory only works if the portals are stationary or moving in the same vector, this is not the case when the orange portal is moving and blue is stationary.

Second, people keep saying that it's impossible for a stationary object to move at whatever speed the portal was moving. This is literally the definition of acceleration. If an object is stationary and suddenly starts moving at 10m/s then its acceleration is 10m/s.

Third, if a stationary portal is a hula hoop, then moving portals are more like printers, you are being pulled and printed on the other side

in the videogame, the devs used a lot of coding shortcuts to "fake" portals, so they work like B
in another game coded without shortcuts (called "Frame: Portals on Steroids") they work like A
