What features those who were left disappointed want for cyberpunk 2077 to be added for it to be what you were promised?

I was never part of the hype and only got the game recently and thought it was ok, it entertained me where GTA4 and 5 bored me to tears and left unfinished.
Anonymous No.718867258 >>718868494
apart from the game being totally broken at launch, was there anything promised that wasn't in the game? I also ignored all the hype and got the game like a year ago. It's not fantastic but it's pretty good and still looks amazing.

I wish the city actually felt alive. Despite the NPCs and vastness of some areas, Night City felt very dead, quiet, and static. Save for random encounter gangs. I don't know how to fix that, just my observation.

They would need to scrap the whole game then rebuild it from scratch to give people the deep, mature RPG they promised instead of the Bethesda style looter shooter slop we got.

I hear this criticism a lot - that Night City doesn't allow for much interactivity. I get that, but for some reason I can't bring myself to hate it. There is something so memorable and real about Night City that made me feel immersed in its setting. I feel the same way about Witcher 3.

The big thing that I felt was promised and undelivered on was a truly branching narrative with tons of replay value. The story was fine for a single playthrough but was incredibly dull on return because all narratives coalesce to a single track.

The game isn't an rpg, it's a generic as fuck GTA clone. They said that every decision in the city was going to influence your reputation with the dozens of factions but there aren't any actual factions in the game. There's basically no augmentations either and the weapon selection is bland and uninspired. Skill system is a joke

>enterable restaurants
>waitresses that actually bring food
>unique NPCs such as the guy on a scooter or the guy carrying stuff in a market (not just random NPCs, but NPCs that belong to the area, like the homeless guy walking up to the homeless camp)
>NPCs talking to you on the street
>verticality and stores inside buildings
>animated crime scenes
>enterable strip clubs with interiors and bouncers
>joytoys everywhere, not just the 4 you can get now
>shop menus that actually exist in the game world and not just a typical game menu
>animations for getting new cyberware
>non linear quests with multiple approaches and outcomes and open world events
>NPCs using elevators
>drone companions
>interesting inspect animations
>bringing random NPCs home and just interacting with the world. Theres barely any interaction right now aside from stores and the metro

For me it was mainly the "sandbox" elements. Early on they kind of made it sound like it was gonna be their version of Skyrim. While in the end it was just Witcher 3 but worse.

Despite the fact that CDPR made these promises, did people really expect the game to turn into some kind of Baldur's Gate 3 clone? If you played Witcher 3 prior, you knew exactly what to expect from Cyberpunk.

Funny example you used, because W3 is actually extremely reactive to how you play the game, choices you make, order of quests you go through, etc. There is hidden dialog in the game that only happens in extremely specific situations 99.9% of people will never see, but are there in case you decided to progress the game in a completely different way. This is one thing that Witcher 3 does exceptionally well.

unironically why I'm glad autopilot is a thing now. Also I love fast driving but the context isn't the same; most cars are *supposed* to be on autopilot; therefore public/NPC freakouts and similar behaviors are stilted compared to an LA highway.

>>718868339
the game would be an incredible test bed for AI though. Applied to NPC dialogue, spawning and behavior, the whole city could light up with interesting things to do.

>did people really expect the game to turn into some kind of Baldur's Gate 3 clone?
Yes, I did expect CDPR to follow up on their promise and deliver a branching narrative with player choice and was disappointed that they did not.

>If you played Witcher 3 prior, you knew exactly what to expect from Cyberpunk
They did not promise a branching narrative with player choice in Witcher 3 so I did not expect that from Witcher 3. Witcher 3 also follows a single well established character so I would have the meta expectation of less player agency than an RPG with no overarching story beyond the immediate game.

You obviously don't remember their ad campaign a few weeks before release in November 2020, where they were still advertising things like clothing styles that would directly impact how NPC's would treat you, or how certain districts like Pacifica would require armored vehicles because of how unsafe it was (there were no armored vehicles on release, and Pacifica was exactly the same as every other district).

This is a Xitter argument. The Star Wars sequel trilogy was extremely successful in the sense that it made a shit ton of money, yet those movies are some of the worst slop produced in recent film history.

>Jackie flips a car to get cover
>hacking with depth (current version is just a rip off of Watch Dogs)
>destructible environments
>interactive ads
>NPCs who work out are dressed like theyre working out (in current version theres NPCs lifting in jeans and shirt)
>police doing investigations and visiting people in the world
>missions requiring preparation (the narrator implies that going guns blazing is bad because it requires a lot of ammo, while in the current version ammo means fuck all. You dont even need to buy it or craft it)
>megabuildings are more fleshed out with their own markets and stuff
>watching BDs anytime

witcher 3 is a movie game with pre established main character based on a book. I was hoping that Cyberpunk would actually reflect being based on an RPG. But instead of a movie game the game is more like a visual novel

The worst part about that demo is that at E3 they specifically said this was a working build of the game, and that the person doing the demo was actually playing with the controller. When we know now that by that point in time they had nothing to show and they prerendered that entire demo and pretended to play it.

Honestly, I don't even care that much about decisions. I just wanted some ultra basic roleplaying elements.

As it stands the only roleplay options in the game was pretty much:

>Cyberpunk Geralt with tits and a cock

I don't think the game has enough roleplaying opportunities. You're always railroaded into being the same character.

Also there should be an option to play without chrome at all, and when you decide to get chromed, it should be a big decision you can't fully undo.

i really liked the game but it didn't feel alive. it was a very straight forward action game set in an open world, but it was all just surface level. there is so much stuff that they could have added to flesh out the world more. for example:
- more verticallity, night city's buildings are tall, let me explore the roofs more
- trauma team being a regular part of the world, in game you see them in like one mission. the trauma team comic for example is really good
- you see enemies with exoskeletons/mechs - i want to use them
- barely any maxtec in game unless you trigger them by going on a rampage gta style
- there is flying vehicles - i want to use them, not just ground level cars

there is more stuff that i cant think of right now. but overall the game felt kinda shallow. i really enjoyed the voice acting and dialogue in game and the gunplay and music were fucking good. stories were also good mostly, but especially the phantom liberty dlc and i did enjoy the comics, e.g. XOXO and the trauma team one stood out for me.
