Depends on the anime. If it's tranime like Spy x Family, Onimai, Sailor Moon, etc. then I'm not adding them. If it's something like Dragon Ball or Studio Ghibli then they're fine.

I don't use steam but it happened to me that I got added by someone while playing hearthstone and the guy turned out to have a furry avatar so I promptly removed him
