I really wish more would understand this, including FromSoft themselevs as they seem to have forgotten since DS1. They sort of replicated the quality in those areas in most of Bloodborne and very earlygame Elden Ring.

Dolls nest was surprisingly great exploration and aestheticwise for a clearly budget game.

remember when the poison swamps weren't just poison swamps and there was some structure up above? AI Limit remembers. And the swamp doesn't make you slow as fuck as a bonus

Hellpoint, Dolls Nest, and AI Limit are the best ones so far, because they're the ones focused on environments, exploration, and atmosphere the most, when those were the actually good parts of Demons' Souls and Dark Souls and not the shitty combat.
Hellpoint is the absolute king in that regard since it has a massive world that's very non-linear and various esoteric elements although the combat is poor, while AI Limit is almost entirely linear in progression but does have large and interesting environments and good combat. Dolls Nest sits snugly in between the two.
