antique gun with antique ammo? Because they literally don't make revolvers like that anymore, the snapping point to hold the gun closed is just too weak for modern ammo.

That only grabs a few random items per day, and quickly stops grabbing items.
There's a bunch of shit that you'll be missing from rarer items if you rely on scavenging stations.
>What? Gun stats are always the same and legendary effects are a mix of unique items from NV and enchantments from Skyrim
FO4 guns gain magic damage values from receivers which make no sense, plus most of your damage will be from perks also which isn't how Fallout is supposed to work.
And legendary effects are straight out of Skyrim/Oblivion which also breaks the setting and game balance.
If you get an explosive/wounding pipe weapon at low levels it will outperform end-tier guns.

Collecting rare resources is not a problem since they weigh little and you can just highlight them. Or you can still just buy them.
>FO4 guns gain magic damage values from receivers which make no sense, plus most of your damage will be from perks also which isn't how Fallout is supposed to work.
It doesn't make sense but it works fine in terms of gameplay. Besides Fallout has always had this β€œmagical” damage from perks and different weapons dealing different damage while using the same type of ammo
Fallout 4 is definitely more gamey but Fallout has always been like that
Anonymous No.718892259
Fallout 4s basically a looter shooter. The mid to endgame becomes mowing down legendary enemies hoping to get good legendary drops to take out the bloated bulletsponge enemies.

There's random shit like nuclear material, gold, etc that can be hard to deliberately find or buy. You just sort of stumble across it when you shove your pockets full of trash.
>It doesn't make sense but it works fine in terms of gameplay.
It doesn't work fine for gameplay at all, that's the issue. A wounding automatic pipe rifle will outperform assault rifles, miniguns, SMG's.
RNG across an explosive minigun or combat shotgun and the only thing that's remotely going to get in your way is the infinite-level-scale enemies.
Fallout has never had magical damage from perks, the classics had some that added 1-2 damage per attack, but that's absolutely nothing compared to FO4's nonsense.
Weapons using the same ammo but different damage also was more sensible as they were DIFFERENT weapons of the same class, more advanced rifles or unique variants with visual uniqueness.

I don't really like the atmosphere or the designs of the guns and armor unfortunately. And I don't like the story or the exploration. I also don't like the music in this one which sucks because I liked the music in all of the other games i played, 1, 2, 3, nv, tactics. some of the companions were cool but i don't think they all had quests which was weird. deacon was cool. and nick ofc is great. the far harbor dlc was really solid too. nuka world sucked imo, but i liked the worldspace. oh i also did like kellogg and the radiation guns are awesome, i always used them and got the perk to make them better.

For some dumbass reason they added a bunch of obscure shit like the Radium Rifle being a Volksturmgehwer.

i think what also kinda annoyed me was the whole like unique and legendary situation, idk it just all felt like some sort of proto skinner box thing? i think they should've included fo4 modularity but also kept uniques from previous games that have their own special models and stats. best of both worlds maybe? and armor idk, i want to blame the lack of armors i like on modularity but idk if that's really the complete reason. maybe the art direction was just lacking somewhere.

I did, for about 180 hours and it's still trash. Radiant quest slop that threw what makes a Fallout game a Fallout game out the window; with bad art design choices to boot. It is a black mark on the Fallout franchise and should have never been released in the state that it did; insted, Bethesda should have made an actual Fallout game. It's arguably not even a Fallout game but a Fallout themed game.
The only redeeming factor is that the combat is improved a lot from previous installments.
Give me FNV with Fallout 4 combat and I'll be the happiest man alive; and even that can be achieved with mods. FNV makes Fallout 4 seem like a fancy toy for retarded children with adhd. FNV superiority for ever.

This is my first run, and I wanted an "authentic" experience with the game. It's better than people say, but holy shit, Fallout 4 has the most annoying bugs of any of these games. The one thing I find the most unbelievable in the entire series is the way 1950s culture and music was still predominant at the time of the war in the 2070s, and somehow around even two hundred years after that for FO3/NV/4. I might have swallowed it if the game's setting had the war happen in 1960, so there'd be an actual reason for the sudden cutoff in media production at that point. But nope, 120 years later and it's still Dean Martin on the weekly top 10. It's almost distracting how it makes zero sense in any form. Even bullshit like the 200 year old food has the in-universe excuse of "lol let's sterilize our canned goods with radiation so they'll keep forever"(the fact that you're somehow the first starving asshole to find it in two centuries is a different story, but whatever).

There's no indication 50's music is common in the wasteland in FO1-2, aside from non-diegetic intro sequences.
It's FO3 where that started, and NV foolishly continued it...I guess NV has the benefit of the doubt being set in Vegas. Then FO4 completely goes full-retard by making all of it's radio songs about radiation and nukes.
