Does she have a defeat portrait yet? She's probably the only character who doesn't have a defeat portrait in any game or an ending where she's visibly defeated onscreen.

Most final bosses show up in the decimal spinoffs where they have defeat portraits. Some endings also showcase the final boss at the hero's mercy somehow. It's been awhile but I thought Eirin started off in a defeat portrait in the true path.

I won't call it a master craft in shmup design, but it's still the best game since LOLK and debatably maybe even since SA (Pointdevice and Legacy were controversial at first with many disliking the design philosophy)
