What’s wrong with lorefags?
Anonymous No.718905148 >>718906203 >>718908289
I'm fine with standalone games and alternate lore or whatever, but they're going to turn around and tell us how they're all connected in 10 years when the next game comes out and it's going to make even less sense.

I care as much about the lore as Nintendo does.

When have Nintendo games ever been said to be actually be related aside from numbered sequels?

Yoshi's Island DS should be exhibit A for why we shouldn't care too much about continuity

It's mostly tendies. Their games are so childish and have no underlying themes to speak of that they grasp for meaning that isn't there.
If it doesn't have interconnected background lore that spans years of games then the game is just a game and that would make them feel correctly that they are stupid.

This translates to we gave up trying to care about the lore a long time ago just enjoy your references

westerners are culturally obsessed with the concept of "canon" because of two thousand years of autistic slapfights over biblical scripture

I'm "obsessed" with the concept of canon because it means the creator isn't insulting mine or his own intelligence. Oh you wanted a different story and different gameplay? Make a different game then, jackass. Oh but that would be too hard because then you can't treat the characters and story like a boomer household brand name.

This is what I've been saying for a while. Sometimes a reference is just a reference for reference sake. You really don't need to overthink on the timeline in a Nintendo game.

In fact, you don't need to think at all for nintendo games

I'm weirded out this obsession with hating lore or backstory of any kind. If you actually play the classic Zelda games, it's pretty damn clear that they were created by people who payed meticulous attention to crafting worlds that felt lived in and were full of significant details that players could pay attention to uncover more about them, they were absolutely not thrown together without tons of thought put towards that kind of thing.

Miyamoto disagrees. Miyamoto is the guy who wanted the cast of Goldneye to reveal that nobody was killed and it was all an act where everyone makes up with each other and feels sorry for anyone who might have been hurt. He's the one who wants the perpetual right to barge into any franchise and overturn what anyone is doing with it to make it his own again, like he's doing with DK now to fudge over everything Rare did with it that he had shit to do with. I have no clue why people just go along with that.

Lorefags really should put their autistic minds to something useful like real world history. It's really fucking lame when nerds know the intricacies of multiple fictional universes but are CLUELESS about the world we live in.

This genuinely would have been very funny and also suitable to the already extremely goofy tone of the game. Silent Hill 1 is a serious game about child abuse and cults and it ends with a blooper reel of all the characters being silly and breaking the 4th wall. It adds to the surrealism.

They already did and came up with the conclusion it's fake and gay and made up by the bias of historiographers.

One revolves around fun, interest and imagination and the other revolves around tax dollars and polarization. Go ahead, feel free to prove me wrong. Cite me a time in history where king fuckshit tyrant didn't go learning history just to repeat it because that's all he learned.

The mind of a child at work, ladies and gentleman. Yeah man Donkey Kong 64 is definitely way more interesting than Ancient Rome.

Literally yes, because I didn't live through ancient rome. I didn't get to impale blue painted bongs, all I got was the dope in a pope mobile. Oh yeah it's just so interesting, they had PLUMBING!
