not really wrong. the problem with the destruction mechanic is that doing exploration in every level ultimately becomes 'tunnel through the ground until you sonar a banana' on repeat. and the exceptions with unbreakable terrain are the hyper-linear sections like grove which are honestly worse.

It's actual problem is the same as Sunshine as much as fans of Both games don't wanna acknowledge it, it is "Follow the plotted line" and breaking from it is irrelevant. You have to do the moons that lead up to the Tri-Moons and then the tri-moons to get to new worlds, so they are all mandatory.

That is why 64 was more "free" then either, because it ONLY cared about the Star amount at the end of the day, not which stars you got. (Except THAT one)

CeX here in the UK are starting to get copies of DKB and MKW rolling in. They had 7 copies of World in yesterday. For comparison, they had 20 copies of MK8DX.

Yes but you use them in more creative ways, and there are actual platforming challenges in it unlike SM64. I don't know how an alive human being who enjoyed SM64 cannot enjoy Odyssey, you would have to hate video games to post something this stupid. This is the first time since 64 they gave us "64 but more" considering Galaxy was a linear game with tiny setpieces and a stupid momentum-killing twirl. Odyssey is the first game in 20 years that finally gave us the SM64 2 every kid wanted.

I liked Odyssey but it's not like 64, Sunshine, or Galaxy. The entire world is laid out before you as-is and you solve puzzles within the world instead of the world constantly changing based on different stars you pick. Sure, some parts of the worlds in Odyssey change when you do certain things like with the pyramid, but it's not structured anything like 64, Sunshin, or Galaxy. You also go from world to world instead of there being select areas you can go to to access parts of said world and there being multiple variations of said world.

I know this is shitposting, but i actually agree with this statement. Each level adds a new gimmick that is kind of cool. But overall they are repetitive. I think they could have done more with some of the banana stuff. Like the hide and seek one, feeding the tree and so on. Sometimes they add a little twist but overall it kept feeling like it was just copy and pasted from the last level, not a unique quest or npc for each level.

Eshop games are going on sale more often in japan now. It wasn't always like this. You'd be lucky to get good sales during golden week and thats about it. For importing play asia and vgp are pretty good, but for some sites you will have to play a balancing act of beating out shipping vs what you're buying. It also used to be pretty easy to buy japanese eshop codes on amazon jp but the jeets ruined that one too.
