All the different Harry endings are true, right? A struggling writer that failed to make ends meet and was abused by Dahlia, falling into alcoholism as a result and eventual infidelity but that ultimately still loved Cheryl deeply

They all seem like different possibilities instead of all tied together to me. My favorite is the one where Dahlia and Harry are still on good terms and Harry explains to Cheryl that no matter what her mom and dad still love her and it’s not her fault. But then again, I’m a big softie

I get that. I really like Harry and that's my favourite scene too. But I think that's the point the game is trying to make: it's very easy to reduce people to one trait, whether for good (Harry as a loving father who'd do anything for his daughter) or bad (Dahlia being a bitch), and it's important to understand people as three dimensional beings with their virtues and their flaws. As such, putting all the tape scenes together paints the most complete image of Harry as a man, with his moments of weakness but more than willing to go the extra mile for Cheryl.
