I have no clue what even came out this year. This entire generation has been a blur. Everything is so derivative I can't feel any excitement for new games.
A few indies here and there but none of them that I have enjoyed will even be mentioned at this show.
Even last years winner Astro Bot was just a standard platformer retreading what has already been done.

In a sense though I am glad. I've branched out to other hobbies such as word working and gardening and both are very rewarding.

There is no suspense, it's reserved for Clair "Doomed to Obscurity" Obscur already because it's the FOTM normie game of choice and that's all this award is anymore, a popularity contest.

Since the Summer Game Fest was an Epic Games sponsored event. The only logic that follows is that Clair Obscur Expedition 33 will have a rigged victory in most categories and sweep most of the awards. Hard to predict, but what is more certain is that it will land the Game of the Year Award. And it will not have been a deserved win or a real unbiased result. But completely tampered with regarding a biased panel and audience vote that doesn't make up any component of it. They will also consider how well the twitch influencers reacted to it so that will make up another false component.
