New Vegas is the only known example in gaming history where the "good guys" have more drip than the "bad guys", which is exactly why people will shill for the NCR despite them being objectively bad and the worse choice for a nuclear holocaust earth. Overreaching, ineffective bureaucracy too reliant on taxation which causes resentment due to obvious and unstoppable corruption vs. a meritocracy based on slave labour, strength of will and arms and a clear and simple ideology which far better serves the people it conquers.
