Physical isn't any better. If a game releases physical but not on GOG then there's some form of DRM.

Unless you can copy it to a USB, burn it onto as many discs as you want or do anything to backup, store or manipulate it, you don't own it.

Steam is propped up by anti consumer publishers because the Steam DRM is good enough. If EA and Ubisoft sells on Steam, ask yourself how consumer friendly Steam truly is.

It's autistic fags that thinks discs are something special. Autistic retards that make being a gamer their personality and lack any understanding of computers and will whole heartedly claim discs don't have DRM on them.

>If EA and Ubisoft sells on Steam, ask yourself how consumer friendly Steam truly is.
that's the thing. pretty sure most, if not all, ea and ubislop games require you to download and use their own drm launchers. steam is just a sales vector

They do but Steam is another DRM layer.
Who do you think is pushing this pussy shit about multiple game launchers?
If you buy an Ubisoft game on Steam you have Ubisoft DRM on top of Steam DRM. More points of failure.

Steam is just DRM lined with bloat. If Steam was anything more, Discord, 4chan v, gaming reddits wouldn't exist, studios wouldn't post on twitter and their own websites. Everything that "justifies" using Steam, is just subk cost fallacy bullshit because their games is stuck under Steams DRM.

Steam as a platform offers DRM as a feature, but Steam itself isn't DRM. There are games in my Steam account that I can run without Steam running. I could literally uninstall Steam and still play them.
>but that's not most games

What the fuck does this even mean? They're not skirting around anything; they're simply not partaking in one of the features Steam offers.

The real problem is that I'll die one day, and at this rate it will be long before I have time to fully enjoy all the good games that exist. This would be true even if the games and their "you own nothing" EULA agreement checkboxes were delivered to me on plastic.

Steam is not DRM. Steamworks is DRM, and it is optional. Devs and publishers actively CHOOSE to put Steamworks DRM in their game. It is not forced by Valve.

Immediate death is still better than new woke management after Gaben dies. See pic for the type that would run steam.

Globohomo would love to own steam, the demoralization propganda would be off the roof. Openly anti-white, funding immigration and trans 'charities' then rubbing it in your face. All forums being reddit-tier censorship and there's nothing you can do since there's nowhere else to go and they have all your games.

If Steam dies, we will certainly have bigger problems to worry about. It is way too profitable for any reasonable investor to let die. It might turn to shit once Gabe dies but it'll still be there.

All my ps2, 3 games are scratched to hell, along with PC warcraft 3, diablo 2 and a knockoff rpg game.

The only pc disk still working is Orange Box, and that is because there was a product code in its cover.

Buy physical: Disk gets scratched in circa 10 years.
Steam: Gets deleted circa 10 years.

So i am going to just pirate.
