tl;dr the AMD cpus that end in 'x3D' do the best in gaming hands down. But you can still get an i7 and as long as its a good one and new enough (12th gen is probably the best to get) you're still gonna be fine. if you want to swing your dick and win in all synthetic benchmarks then AMD has become the new hotness.

I have always been an i7 guy. i9s are stupid more expensive more heat and power when an i7 is great performance not far behind an i9 and cheaper and less heat/power.

Upgraded my EVGA 1080ti with a 5060ti. End of a legendary era. That card hardcarried my ass through so many games it's unreal. I want to get it cleaned up and preserved in a case of some kind.

You guys can get FSR4 running with gains to be had compared to native on Linux, btw. Thanks to third-party developers. It's this support AMD neglected out of nowhere that has me split between installing Windows or Linux on my newest build. Also, apparently they also have not released a full suit of their adrenaline software for Linux.
