How comes the Starfield modding scene is so anemic? Isn't it the same shit engine as all the other bethesda games that can be easily modded?

Why bother modding a dead boring game

Modders are parasitic in nature. They need a healthy host to survive. Starfield is not a healthy host.
> I thought "Mods will fix it" was a real thing.
Sweet and naive summer child.

Is it still modding when you have to first replace 100% of the base game, and then add your own thing on top?

There still has to be a game to play even with the mods

Well OP (you faggot), what do YOU think anyone gets out of modding a fundamentally flawed, shitty game? When there's no foundation, what are you supposed to build on?

it literally is

Nobody wants to mod the game because they simply do not enjoy the game.

The gunplay is pretty solid. Space combat is simple but I can see the potential. But then there's the terrible parts of the game. I think that these parts were done so badly that they were damning to the game's popularity.
>Performance
the game runs badly and looks ugly
>space navigation and exploration
while you can fly your ship in combat you cannot actually go places in it. If you want to travel to another planet/ station/ system you need to use a series of menus to do so.
>planetary exploration
randomly generated landscapes. Mostly flat lands. Some caves that feature a few repetitive tilesets. Even the creatures and plantlife on the planets are also from a list of randomly generated ayys. There's genuinely little that is impressive to see here. A lack of things that would make you go, "Wow!".

Supposedly there is a good number of paid mods available on betheda's online service thing but I'm not going to check.

Because people are done working for free for Bethesda. What a trash game.

because the game is so dog shit no one bothers making them
Skyrim would've been the same way but people were blind to it because there just wasn't anything like it at the time

>knew the story would be shit because modern Bethesda
>all I wanted was the ability to travel seamlessly through space and explore planets like in No Man's Sky, but with the mod possibilities of Skyrim
>got fucking none of that

Because Skyrim is an objectivelly better game than shartfield.
>Better game (lore, characters, etc)
>More community tools and docs for mod dev
>Bigger playerbase to actually play your mod

no one wants to mod this piece of shit while dealing with the load times

shit game

You have to actually know what kind of mod you're looking for, otherwise it's like channel surfing in which you can't find shit you wanna watch.

Also most of the interesting ones are paywalled
