Island part turned a 10/10 game to a 8/10 game. The village and castle sections were amazing, then you go to the island with its boring architecture, cookie cutter action game enemies (except for the regenerador) and you see how creatively bankrupt they got. It's funny how they picked that section of the game to base RE5 on.

soaking up the atmosphere of the village during my first playthrough was by far one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time

The only bad part of the Island is the riding in the back of the truck part.
Glad remake got rid of that

I don't knock the Krauser fight specifically for it, I just hated the QTEs existing in the game at all.
One of my most hated aspects of 4, 5, and 6.

I liked the basement lab section in the OG game a lot and it's probably my favorite area in the entire game. For that alone I can't hate the island, though I somewhat dislike the action setpieces there, but also, they do add a decent challenge.
The remake did a so-so job at it. Not bad not great.

This. The first half is ok but I always start to get bored with the later half. All the interior rooms with cultists aren't that interesting, outside of the one with the red MG guy and the double rocket launcher one. And the underground deserty section is especially boring, I usually tend to forget that part even exists since the mine cart ride is the only bit of it that's actually memorable.

i hate they got rid of the u-3 boss and the laser scene was lame without gore and boring too, i wish RE in general would stay more on the eldritch and horror side of things instead of always ending in some kind of lab where everything is revealed and the enemies feel like sponges. re2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 all suffer from it

God I wish women would go back to bejeweled and cooking mama, they have done irreparable damage to Resident Evil with their absolutely retarded opinions on games, the remqkes all sucked, Village is the worst in the series.
Capcom straight up kidnaps hobos on the street filmed them and then use their engine to turn them it in a video game.
Low effort unpolished trash, especially re4 remake the hitbox on grabs is so broken it looks like a fake unfinished game

Well, until Resident Evil 7, the games had all dialogue written in Japanese then translated after.
So yea, the translations for 1-6 are quite wrong.

The remake has a lot of flaws but turning the Krauser knife fight into a real boss fight was incredible.
