you guys ever replayed old 2000s games and noticed all the shortcomings the games had that was due to devs having to retard their own games so it could work with console controls?

I don't need to replay them to know.
If you ever played Deus Ex Invisible War or Thief Deadly Shadows, you know full well how that shit went. The mid to late 2000s were the dark ages of PC gaming.

As I age I tend to want to play more with a controller than a mouse and keyboard. I want to believe this is a product of spending my entire youth playing on the computer, only to get a career as a programmer. A not insignificant portion of my waking life is and has been on the computer.

Only in the last few years have controllers really gotten support across the board, there used to be all kinds of fucked up compatibility/driver issues if you used anything but a first party Microsoft /xbox controller. Now everything mostly just works.

why thought? games were made on computers, for computers. how did a bunch of guys convince themselves they could make a new system that is better for gamings than the computer, then succeed in shilling them to a bunch of corporate H&R, THEN convince the entire gaming industry at that time to saw their own legs so the games they make could fit on to this new system?

No i just played Champions of Norrath, BG:DA 1 and 2, Xmen legends and they were pretty much perfect
