it's still a great game and i've gotten more than my money's worth, but i'd be lying if i said it doesn't start to feel very samey pretty quickly. the gameplay is fun enough to overcome that for me personally but i get people who get bored of it quickly

But it won't be any of these though it's just gonna be D-Tier SOTE bosses just like how the base game is filled with D-Tier ER bosses. Maybe one souls boss so they can put it in the trailer to farm hype (just like they shamelessly did with nameless king btw, "omg a super souls ring crossover???" Nope just 6 fights) The Nightlords are the only good, and not half baked aspect of this game in my opinion.

Huh, interesting. Do you have more info on both of those? Are the red weapons above gold in terms of strength? Do they all have 2 positive and 1 negative passive? The passive in your pic sounds like it was made specifically for that weapon, I assume that's how it works.
Also do the bonus relic slots only work in the depth mode, or in normal games as well? And are the new relic slots filled with some new unique relics, or just the same stuff?

They easily could, the actual DLC got leaked because we have the voice lines for one of the new classes
it’s not focused on a nightlord, there’s a “Dreglord” who’s on par with the Nightlord and he rests below Limveld. The new class is a “scholar” who applies buffs and debuffs, specializes in thrusting swords, and is male. We also have enemy files for a bunch of SOTE enemies so they’ll be in.

Also, Everdark Heolstor might be saved for after the DLC. Though there’s also a high chance they might not do one at all, his current stats align with the everdarks except for Maris.

On the other hand, 6 vigor is a laughable cost for fucking 22 mind and 38 faith. What the fuck are those stats, these are utterly insane.
The -12 mind but +11 int/fth for Recluse also seems great, considering you have infinite FP anyway.
And the 17 arcane for 4 vigor for Raider is also very nice if you get Great Stars or something like that.

I don't see the appeal. Playing Revenant is like playing base game elden ring as an extra squishy phys/faith build but with access to a slow rechargeable spirit calling bell instead of one time use.
Every other class has something going on that's new and fun and allows you to keep up with crazy boss gimmicks, Revenant has summons that do less damage and die faster in a fight than a max level spirit against pre-nerf Consort Radahn.
If she had a one time death gimmick like wylder where they'd go down like skeletons do and self-rez if not struck again that'd go a long way towards making them more appealing. Every boss has massive aoe spam so it's not like it'd be that broken.

Wylder ones seem like garbage no matter how you cut it. The first one is just trash, and what's the use case for the second one? Decreased main attack skills that every single melee weapon scales with for a total of like 25 int/fth, which is still too little to do anything worthwhile, especially considering his small FP pool. There aren't even any int/fth scaling weapons. Even Moonlight GS scales more with STR than with INT.

I'm already bottoming out on my enjoyment of it. Did a faith/arc playthrough and a str/int one too. RL1 sounds much more frustrating than it was in Dark Souls. Once I get my full enjoyment out of emulated Bloodborne and maybe Nightreign, I'll need to find a new hobby until Elden Ring 2

After 300 hours here are my thoughts on Nightreign

All of the Nightlords are great and (most) are well thought out fun fights however 90+% of the field and night bosses are insanely repetitive, evasive (for the field bosses in particular its obnoxious in a time based game to give every boss encounter some sort of backdash or super jump away move. Very irritating until you get the feel for the combat and learn how to staggerlock them to death with your team), and overall boring to fight.
The weapon effects really should've been the relic effects and the relic system as it currently is should've been scrapped entirely.
Fixed boss map seeds and fixed events are a retarded and inane decision that bring down the feeling of the game dramatically, some of the most interesting moments I've had are my team and I getting Morgott invaded while fighting a red boss but guess what, that's only likely to happen on Gladius and only on certain map seeds, if he's on other bosses it's certainly way rarer. Certain events are even locked to only a single boss like the walking mausoleum (I've only seen once in my 300 hours and couldn't even use it because of the storm).
After win run rewards are useless once you buy all the costumes, and there's a tiny amount of costumes so you can buy all of a characters set in 1 sitting if you wanted to.
The Everdarks overall have been amazing and have kept me playing way past what would've been the games expiration date, however Everdark Caligo in particular is so boring I'm led to believe the devs put that fight together in a day so they could go back to working on the bosses they liked more. It's the exact same fight with a single new move and a useless armor mechanic. He doesn't even hide in the fog anymore like base (Fissure is not in the Fog).
They put Nameless King in the trailer to fake out souls fans into thinking this was going to be some special crossover roguelike game, only to add a measly 6 bosses like cheap assholes.

I’m sorry but this is one of my favorite souls OSTs now.
