Those numbers are now heavily muddled due to mobile gaming contaminating the data pools. It will vary widely by genre but I imagine many games have 90% or more male playerbase, and the vast majority are probably still more than 50% men.
I think casual mobile puzzle games actually skew like 75% female.

I remember Swen Winkle talked about women playing DoS2, from response he assumed half of players are women but when stars came out after a year turns out 80-90% of players were men. Then we get BG3 data where 50% of all players romanced Shadowheart(female), followed by Lazael(female) and Karlach(female) and only then male characters. Women might like rpgs but they still seem to be small minority of rpg players

"46% of the users who decided to take this survey are female"
even if we ignore the whole trans shitfest and assume ALL of the ones who said they're female are actual females, the amount of users who decide to take these surveys are, at best, 25-30% of the total userbase, and usually they're much less than that, around 10-15%

translated this means that of the total userbase, only a tiny fraction took the survey, and a bit less than half of those who took the survey are females: this is literally NOT indicative of the total userbase, for all we know, the remaining users who did not take the survey could be entirely male or entirely female(obviously unlikely, but it's for the argument's sake), which means these numbers are utterly and completely irrelevant if not to give the illusion they matter and the illusion they are representative of the whole.
