What's with how everybody talks about Java and Bedrock, but nobody talks about Legacy Console anymore?

What is there to talk about? Most of them don't even get updates and have nothing different except skins and worlds.

I don't understand why they didn't use the console edition as the cross platform release. It was developed by a Microsoft studio, and had accurate feature completion up until 1.12 at the time, it just needed "infinite" worlds. The pocket edition at the time was running nice on fast, but so many blocks, mobs, and features were wrongly implemented.
Obviously the Java edition is the best, not just for modding, but it's held back, I want a version of Minecraft with mods that can generate 2000 blocks in all directions in an instant, because a game with these graphics should be able to do that.

I've only ever played the Vita version. What's the difference between versions?
