no one believes you on this, OP. there's plenty that someone who played BG1 & 2 could dislike about 3, but if you're complaining about pacing, then you obviously never played those or other CRPGs. a more thoughtful, methodical pace is pretty standard in CRPGs.
JRPGs (which can also be good) would be more your speed.

It's weird, Act 1 is the slowest act for me. I overall enjoy it, but it's far less itneresting that both Acts 2 and 3 (but most people seem to feel the opposite).
