This is a kick back and relax type of game. For me, it was good since the first cutscene ended. For the dopamine addled zoomer COD player, it just won't be the same. Try out some battlefield 6 or whatever's the new one.

It gets good after the prologue, then stays good until the shine comes off and you realize the world is static as hell and most every mission boils down to "ride 'n talk -> arena fight against 15 dudes".
RDR2 is stuck between being a full-on open world Western survival sim and a tightly-scripted narrative experience, and as a result it isn't as good at either as it should be.

No thanks. I'll go back to playing a real cowboy game like Call of Juarez Gunslinger. Enjoy your feminist moviegame garbage.

Chapter 3 and maybe 4 were the only ones I enjoyed but holy shit the whole thing falls of the cliff after that. Epilogue also wasn't that bad but it's only because I'm kind of nostalgic for RDR1

Is there an actual open world cowboy sim game that isn't bogged down with the absolute worst fucking movie game bullshit ever concocted?

I thought Chapter 6 was one of the best, if not the best chapter in the game.

For me it's
2 > 6 > 3 > 4 > 1 > 5

Around chapter 3. Gets really good at around chapter 4. Honestly though, RDR1 is the better game. This one feels like a much more competent and immersive Ubisoft game, which isn't a bad thing; the story is gripping enough, the world breathtaking and full of detail, the gameplay serviceable, but the first Redemption has such an atmosphere the second can't even begin to approximate, even though the first is much smaller and compact. I'd suggest that you play RDR1, if you haven't, before playing RDR2, and taking your time with it, like doing the challenges, activities, mini games. It'll only take 30 hours tops, compared to the hours that the second game demands.
