I've already conceptualized a DRV2 in my mind, but I have no idea what they would do for a DR4.
>V2
Rantaro protagonist, special distinction this time is that the perspective will switch more often than in past games (his two ahoges are adjusted to look more like rabbit ear antennas in shape).
First case is standard tutorial fare, but the sixth chapter reveals the victim was the mastermind.
Second and third cases are normal murder mysteries, though there actually were two killers in V2-3, to tie into the greater themes of inevitable tragedy.
This is because the drama results in the culprit of the third case becoming the next case's victim, with everyone having a motive to do it.
The fifth case (AKA obligatory mindfuck) is a murder with no crime scene. I have not workshopped this idea enough, but it basically means "Time and place doesn't matter, the tragedy will happen".
Final case will be initiated via a suicide once another character realizes the mastermind's death and the futility of the situation. The survivors of the game are 4 people, with Rantaro and Tsumugi choosing to sacrifice themselves.
>Danganronpa 4
So, logically, this would follow the consistent survivor pattern, that being survivors decrease (1=6, 2=5, My V2 (And DR3 I guess)=4, V3=3).
So a DR4 would inevitably have two survivors, but how would that be narratively palatable, and would it be worth doing a new entry and breaking these established patterns? What about the mastermind, how do you spice that up?
If it's just murder mysteries in a school, that doesn't need to be DR.
