It’s the “finally, something different but familiar” syndrome. Nintendo shits out MK clones with blue shells yearly, but Kirby Air Riders comes in like a blast from the Melee-disc-in-your-GameCube past. It's not even revolutionary, it's just classic Nintendo polish on a cult favorite formula. Everyone's starving for sincerity in games, and this felt like someone actually gave a crap. Bonus points for no gacha, no battle pass, and yes-city trial is back.
