Kirby Air Riders will collect dust next to Mario Kart World just like all the other cart racers. Nobody is waiting for that game to come out. At least not enough to make even a dent in Mario Kart World's Switch 2 presence. It might beat Sonic Crossworlds since it's a Nintendo made game, but Crossworlds wasn't going to sell a lot on Switch 2 either, so that's not saying much at all.

Its my favorite game of the year:/ feels very good to play and the intermissions really dont bother me that much.

If Air Riders lets you race on tracks instead of open world straight lines it will be the superior game.

Mario Kart will always be more popular than a Kirby game. Even if Air Riders is more fun.

That was the plan, they intentionally forced the open world straight line bullshit to push people to the traditional racer and empower a non-Mario franchise. They were hoping to do the same with Bonanza and will be doing it with Metroid and again with Animal Crossing. Then they will drop the most hype 3D Mario ever made.

Air Riders and Crossworlds will probably be more enjoyable games, yes.

Bananza is the only switch 2 exclusive worth picking up at the moment. Really hoping Prime 4 and Air Riders turn out good. Otherwise I’ll probably just be playing Trails and Mina on the thing for the foreseeable future (or until Xenoblade patches go up).

Mkw is fucking great youd be insane to exclude it from reasons to buy a switch 2. It might be one of the best racing games of all time as is, let alone when it gets dlc down the road. Its a masterclass of playability. Its fun to just hang out in the waiting rooms between races. It doesnt matter the context you can play with it and have fun.

Mario Kart 8 was BY FAR the best selling game on the Switch, which itself is one of Nintendo's best selling consoles of all time... and you think Nintendo intentionally planned to push people away from Mario Kart and onto a different kart racer? You are an absolute fucking retard.

The thing about Kirby Air Riders is that it's a straight sequel. No change for the sake of change, just the same game but with the exact additions and improvements which fans have been asking for. In an industry plagued with remakes and shitty gimmick entries, this happens once in a blue moon.

I’m not even a Kirbybro and I’m interested in this game for this exact reason. I did like Air Ride back in the day and it seems clear to me that this is a genuine sequel that fans actually wanted and asked for and is true to the original game. Meanwhile, Mario Kart World is doing the open world meme and Sonic Crossworlds is crossover slop baiting Riders fans with tacked on extreme gears. Sad that the new Kirby is a better Sonic Riders sequel than anything Sega could or would ever put out.

The game was already blatantly bad from the release. I genuinely feel bad for anyone retarded enough to fall for the Youtubers saying the update ruined it because it more or less proves they don't have anything going on in their heads. The item balance and number of racers during even normal lap races combined with awful track design already made it the worst new Mario Kart in ages, all of the boring intermission track shit was just adding insult ot the injury.

It’s the “finally, something different but familiar” syndrome. Nintendo shits out MK clones with blue shells yearly, but Kirby Air Riders comes in like a blast from the Melee-disc-in-your-GameCube past. It's not even revolutionary, it's just classic Nintendo polish on a cult favorite formula. Everyone's starving for sincerity in games, and this felt like someone actually gave a crap. Bonus points for no gacha, no battle pass, and yes-city trial is back.

Kirby Air Riders is a harder sell at $70 than Mario Kart World is at $80, even knowing that it will probably more content rich.

Sakurai needs to stop using the same boring ass art style for all his games. The environments in Smash Ultimate and Kirby Air Riders are similarly generic and you're lying if you say you don't know what I mean. Say what you will about the modern HAL Kirby games, but at least its depiction of Dream Land is visually distinct.
