It was kino.
Only issue is that the fight didn't let you use Torrent.
And given how much the beast likes running away, and given how fast that one star attack was at launch, Torrent would have been nice to have.

thankfully I played it after the patch with torrent, though he's only really good in short bursts for dodging/escaping certain moves and closing the gap after EB runs away, if you stay on him for too long you get knocked off easily and then die from a flurry of range/AOE attacks >>718965530
radagon was way more fun to fight but EB was a great spectacle to send off the game

Was there really proper build up to this? It felt out of nowhere going into this. Not at all what I expected to find in the tree or technically under the tree.

Falls into the trope of god being a foreign, alien force as an allegory for western influence and capitalism that Japs seem to love in their RPGs https://youtu.be/IEUqLL8J4gI?t=4214
I loved the visual design of elden beast but the fight itself was god awful. The constant teleporting away, you having to chase it down and get a couple hits in before it tp'd away again, shit got old instantly. Now that you can use the horse in the fight it is slightly less awful, but shit still sucks.

Way better, having to constantly chase him down on foot is not only exhausting but just straight up makes the fight extremely hard because you're far more likely to lose HP while you're catching up to him, ends up being a war of attrition which you always lose
