Venus has never been bad. The only thing bad about her is bad writing. And TMNT in general has MANY examples of bad writing. Like Seth Rogen sex changing Bishop. And who can forget how Bishop is not even human in the Nickelodeon cartoon. Then you have Shredder not being human in the 2003 cartoon.

Venus should be given to actual fans who care about her. They would know how to make her relevant for one thing Venus having a specialty in the mystical arts alone gives her a unique niche.

Dude that's not a phone. That's a Turtle Communicator from the actual cartoon. Putting it simply Donatello in that cartoon invented the Smart Phone BEFORE it actually existed in reality complete with video camera functions which is why this is one of the few times a retro character doing selfies feels natural and organic.
