I feel like you'd probably need a well-established editorial to be the ones to approach Nintendo for the license in the first place for any of that to happen. You have stuff like the Zelda mangas being translated, so it's probably a matter of initiative. I do imagine selling Nintendo on a translation of light novels compared to manga is probably harder though.
