Only if you have bad hearing. The soundboard was awful, and games that existed on both Genesis and SNES always sounded worse on a Genesis.

A number of titles made specifically for Genesis had killer soundtracks, though (Sonic games and such) and worked within the limitations of the Genesis very well.

Megadrive soundchip is pure soul but needed a good sound engineer to make it sing. SNES one was just a soulless sampler. SoR2 and Shinobi soundtracks blow away anything on the SNES.

MegaDrive feels like more of an NES successor than snes did gameplay wise. Quick snappy games and arcade experiences as opposed to slow floaty ones and JRPGs

There's little point to retro consoles and you should be emulating their arcade counterparts instead. Every retro console has a few worthy exclusives, but the bulk of its library of hundreds of games is shovelware and inferior ports of arcade games.
