I like it as a different concept to AC. AC is about the small area for tight knit connections to villagers. Exploration like in Minecraft can be aimless but it does add sort of another focus to the gameplay flow that AC isn't aiming for. Not bad necessarily, I'd try it, but again it's a different vibe.

While I do agree LLMs certainly aren't needed for the comfiness of this series, I do think that (if properly implemented) it could add just a dash of variety in dialog. As said earlier, a villager could ask or tell you the same thing they did yesterday but choose a different phrasing and it automatically feels both consistent in the character but realistic that it's not the same message copy and pasted from yesterday.
I'd personally really like villagers that remember conversations or decisions made in the past, them acknowledging my letters or town message board posts, giving me opinions on the ordinances I choose or the furniture/decor I add around town (other than "Oh, you added a fire hydrant!" after the fire hydrant ceremony).
