but he also wants to see and explore the heights of power. he wasn't a nihilist before he met amelie. he was in awe of whoever around him had the most power and latched on to them, which was fragile before amelie. amelie, as the EE, corrupted higgs. but he was always sort of on a search for a higher power, similar to SoD. they differ slightly, but they are closer than you may think.

Anon, it's way simpler than that. A journey across worlds/a landscape that has become disconnected due to an apocalypse that reiterates throughout that the connections between people is their true strength and the key to moving forwards.

Death stranding has them singing "London bridge is falling down" multiple times throughout the story and keeps bringing up how one interpretation of the song is about human sacrifices under the bridge. Then they reveal they basically have human sacrifice to build the chiral network under each city. There is a lot of blending of Egyptian and Christian imagery, a lot of Pinocchio references, all the talk of chirality is basically reworking 'as above, so below', and more. Amelie is the whore of Babylon. Sam is the demiurge. As Sam, you play a mason, going around and building bridges. There's the 'satanic function' glyph that exists In the game.

I remember being a kid and thinking it seemed gay when I saw it in the store. Then I asked the clerk for a recommendation similar to dark cloud and he said to play Kingdom hearts, so I did. Shit was cash. It is cringe kino. It shouldn't work but it does and the gameplay is the early entries was really fucking good (especially for the time). There was never anything like it before or since.
