I don't have a backlog because I'm not addicted to buying things that I don't intend to immediately use. When I buy a game, I play it.
Anonymous No.719002932

Yes, I only add pirated or borrowed games to my backloggery if I finish them, every unfinished and unplayed games are games I bought and haven't finished yet, I'm REALLY bad at finishing games, I can't help but starting new games before finishing the ones I was already playing

Also I just noticed I messed up the math, it's 724 games on my backlog

That number was over 1000 about three years ago, I went through and removed plenty that I knew I would never even try out plus I've been beating around 100 games each year

It's a website, backloggery.com
People usually don't like it tho because you have to manually add everything

I don't understand this mentality, if you don't plan on playing a game as soon as you buy it why even get it? Doing what you guys do would honestly make playing vidya a chore, something you don't do because you enjoy but because you need to avoid feeling buyer's remorse.
>b-b-buh it was on sale!
It'll go on sale again, and that's ignoring key sites/piracy. Honestly you guys just have shitty spending habits.

actual games i bought but haven't played yet? like 5. games that i picked up because they were free? like 15 or 20. but i usually only buy games that i actually want to play when i want to play them.
Anonymous No.719005245
140ish on my wishlist
8~ I bought but haven't played yet
Anonymous No.719005270
Like 400 or 500, I don't expect myself to play them all and I force myself to never start more than 3 games at a time, I also got rid of all live service crap

i don't understand how this post pops up into every backlog thread, when it's such an obvious misunderstanding of what a backlog is

You buy games you WANT to play, but you also have other games you want to play TOO. it is a time issue, not a financial one
>if you don't plan on playing a game as soon as you buy it why even get it?
because you WANT to play, but you also WANT to finish playing this other game you've already started. Are you telling me you don't buy a new game unless you've 100% completed every game you already own?
>something you don't do because you enjoy but because you need to avoid feeling buyer's remorse
again, thats a fundamental misunderstanding. you buy it because you WANT to play it
>It'll go on sale again
yeah, like 6 months down the line, when i'll probably have started a different game. and by your logic, i shouldn't buy it then either

Instead of making a selection from the vast universe of every videogame ever which would take me forever, choosing from the ones that I own (you're interested in playing them otherwise why buy them) makes for a good selection of what I should play and good backlog content. Out of my 118 PSX games I've beaten 63. I'm slowly tackling my backlog and enjoying every step of the way. I don't have a detailed excel for my ps2 collection but it's the same.
I'm doing something else at the moment but when I'm done with that I'll tackle RE2's Claire B path and cross it down the list, but I'm not sure what I should play next.
It's not like I only play games from any one system. I recently beat RE8 before that, and Megaman Battle Network 1 before that.

I passed on some Nintendo games and later they got a price hike in my country, now the price on sale is almost what it cost full price before, so yeah I don't like taking chances with sales

>i get it
>dont feel like playing it right now tho
>at last get around wanting to play it
>saved money

vs

>game i want to play on sale
>dont want to play right now tho
>dont buy
>finally want to play game
>not on sale right now
>fuck, either have to wait again or buy full price
>money lost

Name one game that does exactly what Fallout 4 does but better.

>first and third person
>character creator
>level system
>mod support pic related
>can turn it into a world of rape or survival sim
>grounded shooter combat
>be in base
>sort out gear and grab what you need
>open map and pick location or quest
>head out
>2 minutes later something to fight
>2 minutes later something to explore
>2 minutes later something to interact with
>2 hours later
>completed 2 quests
>explored 1 dungeon
>looted 2 new pieces of gear
>encountered a new companion
>now you are at your target location to do what you actually wanted to do
>do the thing
>you've played the game for 4 hours and return to your base
>do some maintenance, eat, sleep, head out again

Just one game. Name one game that does all that but better.
