People have been banned from game servers for as long as they've existed and for a lot less than this.
The real problem is that the rise of live-service games have created a scenario where players must exist comfortably within their ecosystem so they spend money on microtransactions. Players can only spend in servers they have full control over, so if you're banned from the region server that oversees the game, you can't connect to any instances of the game it overseas.
If games can't have decentralized network infrastructures or anything resembling private servers anymore, they should at least have "loud retard matchmaking" where these people are put similar to how games will pit aimbotters against other aimbotters. At least for a while. Even retards deserve the fruits of their labor and what they choose to spend it on.
