Is there an inverse of this where tank controls would fix an analog game?

I suppose in some ways some 3d sonic games might benefit from that, since they might be trying to railroad you on one fast track, so might as well treat it more like a driving game. Especially when you consider how in something like Sonic'06 you might just die if you tilt the joystick just a bit to the side.

Doesn't necessarily "fix" it, but Luigi's Mansion gave you the option for both and many prefer the tank controls

It's hard to say exactly because nobody has re-released a non-tank control game but put tank controls in it. But personally, I felt that Croc 2 felt a lot more slippery and imprecise when compared to Croc 1, and there were several sections where I wished I could go back to the controls of the first game.

Will people reevaluate this game once it gets released?

Metroid Prime 3 would be better if it played with the original Gamecube controls.

I tried playing it the other day and tank controls were the least of its problems.
